Let start with condolences to the parents of lil' Nurin who suffered a horrible passing. I can only hope that the suffering did not last long. For those of you who have no idea of the going on in Malaysia with regards to this case, you can always do a search for "NURIN", or click the here .
Even with the amount of media attention this case has received, it seems like many parents are still taking the safety of their kids for granted. I guess being too secure a country also has a disadvantaged. People tend to presume that just because crime is not prominent, it wont happen. But that isnt so.
Just the other day at the mall, i saw a young couple who just walked away from their young daughter (abt 2 i guess) to look at a menu posted on a panel. And they dint even bother to pay attention to the girl. With the amount of human traffic there on that day, btw it was knock off time, and the numerous exit points, anyone could have picked her up and disappeared.
Then again this is usually the case in those of young couples, or in shotgun marriages. I'm not sayin all of them are the same but many. All for a moment of folly with ecstacy. Being young myself i can understand that its tough to find that your moments of enjoyment to go clubbin, drinking, socialising etc have been cut short. But the little bundle is also a joy, you just have to find new outlets that are probably more toned down for eg, times at the beach, travelling etc.
Hey if foreigners can bring their kids on snorkeling trips, and i'm referrin to a young girl and a lil baby, why cant we? I sure as hell plan to do so, though when that is i dont know yet of course.
To summarise, young parents watch your kids well dont presume, those intending to do the dirty, for goodness sake use a rubber, or pay the time for the crime, and for those thinking fun is lost as parents, think again .... out of the box this time!!
